Beautycount Black Friday Sale
If you’re not familiar with the brand, it’s pretty much my default brand for both skincare and makeup and has been for years. (They’re also a certified B-Corp!) Because they make so many great products, it made the transition to cleaner products really easy a few years ago. I have tried a lot of clean brands but almost always return to Beautycounter.
They usually only make a few site-wide sales per year, and this is one of them! I know we’re not wearing much makeup these days, but one positive aspect of staying home more often is that I have more time to focus on skincare. So if you’ve been looking to switch to some cleaning products, now is a great time to do so at a discount!
The list of Beautycount products that I love is very longSo I’ve narrowed down the list to just the best products I’ve been using most often in 2020 and organized it by section so you can shop based on your preferences.
It’s also worth noting that they offer free shipping on all orders over $50! (The sale runs now through Black Friday!) And, if you sign up for their rewards program ($29 per year, includes free shipping on orders over $100 and 10% Beautycounter dollar back with every purchase), get the Overnight Resurfacing Peel and Charcoal Mask Duo Gift Set (two of my most recommended products) for FREE! It’s a big robbery!
Here is my list of Beautycounter 2020 finalists:
Because what we need in the beauty department has changed dramatically this year. 😂
Most used skin care products:
Peeling at night:
This is the #1 skin care product I recommend to everyone and I saw results in the first two uses. This gives you a night glow that fights dullness, helps even skin tone, fights dry, scaly patches, helps with breakouts and fine lines. It’s also not overwhelming for sensitive skin like many other comparable peels are. It is an absolutely fantastic product that is great for all skin types.
Anti-aging serum:
I’ve been using this serum since it came out (last year? Two years ago? Years fly by!) and I love it. I think it’s hard to tell if anti-aging serums are working or not. But this one is very obvious. I didn’t really appreciate it until I stopped using it for a while and took it back and noticed a difference in my skin! I think it has really helped improve skin texture, dullness and has made the fine lines on my forehead less noticeable. The main ingredient is Bakuchiol, which is a natural, plant-based alternative to retinol that has shown comparable results in studies! (Note: I only use this at night, I find it can build up under makeup if you don’t take enough time to let it dry completely before applying any product over it!)
Mild anti-aging cream:
From the same line, I also really like their anti-aging day cream, which also contains Bakuchiol. It is very moisturizing without being too heavy and leaves the skin very soft. I like to wear this day and night! (Although Grace finally managed to get me to bite Dr. Bader’s bullet, which I’ve been applying at night more recently and I have to admit I love it. The Beautycounter isn’t quite as rich or luxurious as Dr. Bader’s, but it’s also not extravagantly expensive. 😂)
Anti-aging eye cream:
Same anti-aging line as the previous two – this is my favorite eye cream I’ve ever tried and it contains Bakuchiol to fight aging. While no product will really get rid of dark circles (other than fillers, which I can’t speak to because I’ve never tried them), I think this definitely helps the appearance of darkness/that sallow look under my eyes so I look less tired! overall and reduces the appearance of fine lines!
Adaptive Moisture Lotion:
Their Countermatch Face Lotion is a really great daily lotion if you’re looking for great hydration at a lower price! Keeps your skin hydrated ALL day. (It really adjusts to the level of moisture you need, just like the name says!) This is what I used daily for two years until I switched to the smooth anti-aging cream and still use it if practical.
Charcoal Mask:
This clarifying mask is amazing for combating pesky masks and treating breakouts! If you have drier skin (like me), I recommend using it as a spot treatment, but if you have oilier skin, it’s great for targeting oil production in the T-zone.
cleansing oil and Coconut cream cleanser:
I use both and really love them both. I mainly use the cleansing oil at night, which is super soft, moisturizing and amazing for removing makeup. If you’re just looking for a simple, basic, gentle cleanser, I love the Coconut Cream Cleanser, which is part of their new “basic” line (which is also really affordably priced!) I’d compare it to a clean cleanser. Cetaphil! I have this in my shower!
SOS localized treatment:
To help combat occasional pesky breakouts (especially with maskne!), this is a great full strength salicylic acid treatment that isn’t too harsh and goes on clear! Will this cure super stubborn hormonal acne? No, but for the occasional breakout, it’s a great product!
Most used makeup products:
Your new Skin Twin Creamy Concealer:
I had yet to find a good clean spot concealer before this one, either they didn’t cover enough or I didn’t like the formula, but this one finally does it! I have replaced my Laura Mercier with this one! My favorite part is that it’s not cakey and doesn’t seem to settle in lines like other creamy concealers do. Most days I just wear this as my only foundation (and skip foundation!) I use the shade “Light 1” and you can find the shade chart linked on the page.
Skin Twin Foundation:
Same as above – no clean foundation has really hit the nail on the head in the coverage department before, and I REALLY love this formula. It’s buildable enough to be full coverage, but it’s very hydrating and doesn’t look cakey! I don’t usually wear foundation unless I’m out of the house or shooting, but I can wear this all day and not feel like I have anything on my face. I use the shade “Light 210”.
Eyebrow Gel:
Filling in my brows is something I tend to do every day even if I don’t leave the house, you know, just to feel like a human being. 😂 (After all, they’re one of the few things you see when you’re wearing a mask!)
Body Favorites:
Daily shampoo and daily conditioner:
I have been using this shampoo and conditioner for over a year now and I love it! It is sulfate free and of course none of the bad stuff. It’s so soft and easy on your hair, and it doesn’t cost a fortune! I like that a little goes a long way with both. It’s hard to find a good sulfate-free shampoo that lathers like a regular shampoo and this does the trick!
Body wash:
If you are looking for a gentle and moisturizing body wash, I love this one and have used it for years. (Although recently the Necessaire Eucalyptus Body Wash has been my favorite lately because it smells so good!) However, Beautycounter will always be a staple in my shower. Their body wash leaves skin feeling super soft (I’d say great for those with dry skin!) and doesn’t give you that “naked” feeling that many soaps and body washes give! It has a very light citrus scent that isn’t too overpowering (Neal uses it sometimes and doesn’t complain about feeling like he’s using a “girly soap”).
What I have my eye on:
Lotion and softening hand soap duo:
I am going to buy this set for my kitchen, it is very pretty and I am very intrigued by the smell of neroli. Since I always wash my hands these days, it feels like a small pleasure to enhance the experience!
Hand Cream Gift Set:
I buy these little lotion sets every year because they are the perfect size to throw in all your bags. Especially now, I always want hand lotion to follow up with hand sanitizer!
Counterman replacement for Neal
She loves the entire men’s line, but her most notable favorites are the Charcoal Face Lotion and Body Wash.
Don’t sleep on their rewards program!
They have a rewards program called beauty band–it’s like Prime, but you get points with every purchase for any future purchases! It’s $29 per year, but that gets you free shipping on all orders over $100, plus you’ll earn 10% cash back points toward your next purchase, on EVERY purchase! (NOT automatically renewed!)
If you spend $50 or more adding the Band of Beauty membership to your cart, you’ll also get a travel-size Overnight Resurfacing Peel AND Charcoal Mask duo set as a welcome gift! It should automatically appear in your cart at checkout!
I highly recommend to all fans of the brand (or just anyone planning to buy more than $50 worth of products anyway!) Also, remember, if you’re already a Band of Beauty member, remember that you probably have product credit that you can use during the sale.
